Apache Junction Seekers

Al and Linda enjoy visiting new places and having new experiences. In 2006, we spent 4 months in Europe and originally created this blog to keep friends and family informed. After a long delay, I'm trying to catch up with what we've been doing since then and hope to carry on into the future.

Photo Album..............Belgium...................................

The main square in Malmedy, Belgium, one of the most flowery towns we encountered. The square was full of tourists at outdoor restaurants and we have no idea what the particular attraction of the town was except that it is beautiful.

The main square in Bruges. Lots of restaurants, lots of tourists.

Another view of the square with Al in the foreground, apparently thinking deeply about which Belgian beer he wants to order.

Bruges is rife with bicycles and the whole area has good riding opportunities, unless you're interested in going up or down hills. If you look closely, you can see the row of horsedrawn carriages in the center of the square, awaiting the tourists who were lining up to take the short rides.

A canal and bridge in Bruges.

The beef cattle have a different shape in Belgium. Note the obvious muscle development, much different from your average Hereford or Angus like we raise in the US. Even the small calves have this muscularity. That round butt should make great steaks.

Another muscular beauty. Having raised cattle at one time, I can't help notice such things.

The British cemetery on 'Flanders Field' for those of you who remember the WWI poem.
